Vivid Hues - Photoshoot

It's been a while since I shared any of my photography work on my blog and as some of you will know photography is what I study at university. We're usually set a brief each term / week at uni so I have to create images which fit a few rules therefore for most of the year I was producing work that I wouldn't ever put in my own personal portfolio. However during our last term at uni our brief was completely self directed, meaning I could do whatever I wanted. I defaulted back to my usual interest which is fashion / beauty photography. This shoot in particular was beauty themed, focusing on dewy skin, strong brows and a bold lip. We switched the look up a few times, even deciding to change the theme completely at one stage and create a fake freckled look.Overall it was a really fun shoot and something a bit different for me. I've done a few beauty shoots before but this was my first one in the studio and my first using coloured card to create the bright backgrounds. The lipsticks, eyeliners and eyeshadows I featured in yesterdays post were all purchased and used in this shoot so as you can see the colour pay off from the £1 lipsticks is pretty impressive!

I plan on doing a few more posts in the future to show more of my portfolio work, so if you're interested in seeing more of my photography then keep checking back or alternatively you can have a look at my photography page which I'll link below!

Beauty Haul

Today on my blog I'm going to be showing you a few products I've recently picked up during my last few trips to Superdrug. I've been going there a lot recently, picking up little basic things for myself and a variety of make-up bits and bobs for the photoshoots I've been doing as part of my last uni project. So with that being said, I finally felt like I had gathered enough items up to create a blog post.
I'll begin with the only skincare products I picked up. The first thing was a repurchase of a favourite product of mine which is the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. I believe I've mentioned this a few times on my blog before so I won't say too much about it other than it's a firm favourite of mine that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, light moisturiser especially for the Summer months. I then also picked up two packs of Superdrugs own Cleansing Facial Wipes for sensitive skin. They're really cheap and do a pretty good job at taking my make-up off when I'm feeling too lazy to do it properly so it's always handy having some of these laying around!
Next up is this Mitchum Roll on Deodorant. I've mentioned before on my blog that I'm really fussy with deodorants, I have no preference and find I get bored or go off the scent of them really quickly. I'm yet to find my perfect deodorant but I think (fingers crossed) that this one stands a pretty good chance. I've never heard of this brand before or noticed it in stores, however after noticing my mum had started using it and how good it smelt I decided to try it for myself. It was pretty cheap but so far I've been enjoying using it! I then also picked up the Miss Sporty Hollywood Lipgloss in the clear shade called Hollywood Boulevard. I'm not one for lip glosses however I picked this up to use for one of my photoshoots. I doubt I'd use this product for myself, however I will keep it in my kit for future shoot uses.
On to eye products now. I picked up the Romantic Efflorescence palette from MUA which I've been looking at for a while and finally decided to try. It was only £4 so it was really affordable. I needed a purple eyeshadow for a 70's glam rock inspired shoot I was doing and this palette had the perfect shade in it so I finally had a reason to justify picking it up! I'm yet to really use this palette myself, so until I do I won't say much else about it. I also picked up 3 different eyeliners, I picked up my usual Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner, however I picked up the brown shade rather than my usual black as I wanted to create a fake freckle look in one of my beauty shoots. Continuing on with my quest to find the ideal freckle faker I also picked up a brown pencil eyeliner from MUA which comes with a spooly on the other end. So handy and I'm pretty sure it was only a £1! I then decided to stray away from my typical eyeliner and went with the Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Look Eyeliner. I've been using this for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. In fact, I think it may even replace my collection one as my favourite eyeliner. The nib is so thin which allows me to create really precise lines and sharp flicks.
I went a bit crazy for lipsticks as I was doing a beauty shoot which involved neon lip colours being the main focal point of the look. As I knew I was picking up multiple bright shades (which chances are I wouldn't ever use myself) I decided to stick to cheap and cheerful brands. I picked up two from MUA and two from Make-up Revolution - all of which I believe were about £1. The Orange Lipstick is from Make-up Revolutions Scandalous collection and is in the shade "Vice". The purple Make-up Revolution lipstick is in the shade "Depraved". The MUA lipstick in the white bullet is in the shade "Peachy Keen" and the MUA lipstick in the black bullet is in the shade Persian Rose. Despite all lipsticks only costing a £1, the colour pay off is really quite amazing. I was really impressed with how well they worked for my photoshoot and some of the colours could be quite wearable if a bright lip is something you're in to.

That's all for this beauty haul, although I have been shopping again recently (whoops) so expect another haul very soon!

7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag

Hello Readers,

As you can probably tell from the title of this post, today I shall be doing a tag! I don't tend to do many on my blog for some reason but I quite enjoy doing them. So with that being said I had a look online and decided to do the 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty tag as it looked quite interesting. I believe it's quite an old one now so I'm sure many of you will have seen this go round before but as I hadn't done it yet I thought I might as well give it a go!

Greed
What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive one?

My most inexpensive beauty item is a pretty dull one but it is this MUA intense colour eyeliner in the shade Jet Black. It's honestly such a good eyeliner, it goes on so creamy and is really pigmented. Also, the lid doubles as a sharpener which is so incredibly handy! This was only £1 so it's such a bargain.

My most expensive beauty item to date is my Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. I bought this quite a while ago now whilst on the plane back from Alcudia. I believe the palette is £37 however as I was using my leftover Euros I roughly paid about 45 euros for it. (I think) So despite it being quite a splurge it was definitely worth it - since picking this up I've used it countless times and find it to be a really diverse palette. You can create so many looks out of the shades provided and they're really good quality shadows - super pigmented and really easy to blend!

Wrath
What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

The beauty product I have a love / hate relationship with, has to be the Max Factor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint. I've got shade 04 and I absolutely love the colour of it - it's such a beautiful red wine shade. However, the lasting power of this is really pathetic which is why I dislike it. After a little while it goes quite patchy and sort of flakes a little bit and then before you know it, it's completely worn off. I love the colour but this is a high maintenance lip product with constant touch ups necessary!

The product I found hardest to get was actually the Sleek Blush By 3 palette in Lace. Everytime I went into Superdrug to pick it up, they never had it in stock. They don't stock Sleek in the Superdrug in my town so I had to keep looking for it whenever I was in Nottingham or if I was in Leicester and it was always sold out! Luckily enough for me my boyfriend's sister, was able to grab this for me and gave it to me as a Christmas present. I was very happy to finally get this trio as it was on my beauty wishlist for so long. The colours are so beautiful and are crazily pigmented - such good value for money!

Gluttony
What are your most delicious beauty products?

One of my most delicious beauty products is this Rimmel London Sweet Jelly Sheer Lipgloss in the shade 060 Delicious (ironic I know) As far as lipgloss goes, it's alright - they all seem the same to me so I wouldn't really know the difference from a good one and a bad one. However this smells and tastes SO nice - every time I wear it I pretty much just eat it off straight away.

I couldn't choose just one product for this so I also wanted to include this Flava Craze Chapstick in Watermelon Splash. Again as far as chapsticks go this is an alright product, nothing amazing but there's really nothing I could complain about either. It leaves a slight red / pink tint to the lips so it's perfect if you're just wanting to add a nice subtle hue and moisturise your lips at the same time. Plus, it smells absolutely incredible! Perfect summer lip balm.

Sloth
What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

I will admit hand on heart that I neglect all of my cream / liquid blushers due to sheer laziness. They're just so much effort to put on! I always feel like I put too much on and therefore spend even longer trying to blend it in. I'd much rather just stick with powder blushes, easy to blend and less scary looking!

Pride
What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

I know most girls will say foundation or concealer but for me I think it honestly has to me mascara. My eyes are quite small and I really need mascara to help open them up more and make them look that little bit bigger. I really don't know what it is but mascara just ties a look together and without it I think I look rather strange!

 Lust
What attributes do you find the most attractive in the opposite sex?

Hair, smile and dress sense are probably the things I'd say in terms of physical attributes. Overall though they need to be caring, supportive, honest and they must be able to hold a conversation with me. There's nothing more off putting than a guy who just doesn't seem to be able to make conversation with me.

Envy
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Oh this is a really tricky one as there's always something on my wishlist! I think I have to say pretty much any make up product from theBalm as they have the most incredible packaging and such quirky little product names.

That's all for this post. I know it's quite an old tag now so I imagine quite a few of my followers will have done it but if you haven't and decide to do it then I'd love to see some of your responses! So I tag anyone who fancies giving it a go!

I hope you're all well.

Beauty Photoshoot #2

Hello Readers,

Today I will be showing you some of the images from a recent photoshoot I did.
As some of you may know, I'm currently on a gap year so it's really important for me to use this time to build my photography portfolio up and try and better myself as a photographer. I moved up to Nottingham to help open myself up to new experiences however this created the problem of me not having any contacts up here.

Luckily I found a modelling agency which has helped provide me with some amazing models so far and I also have recently found myself an MUA. So with that being said, shoots are becoming a bit more of a regular thing now!

Jessica, the makeup artist, was also responsible for creating this beautiful floral crown for the shoot. How amazing is that?! It was such a lovely prop to work with and I absolutely adore it!

That's all for this post.

Let me know what you think of these images! I'd love to hear some feedback.
I hope you're all well.

Makeup Wishlist #1

Hello Everyone!

I'd just like to first of all apologize for my absence, as you may have noticed I haven't posted anything for about 3 days now. My broadband connection went down and has been an absolute nightmare trying to fix. Thankfully, my broadband is now sorted and I can now resume with my daily blog posts. So to start back off with my regular posts, I thought I'd create a make-up wishlist, showing you make-up pieces that I am currently wanting to try. Most of these items are drugstore and are therefore extremely affordable. I personally love drugstore products as they can be just as good, if not better than high end products and I love the fact that because they're cheaper you can get more for your money.

1. theBalm FratBoy Blush - £16
I first saw this blush on EssieButtons June Beauty favourites video and I have fallen in love with it. It's a beautiful pinky, peach colour which is normally the type of colour blush I go for. I love the Benefit-esque packaging and would love to add this to my make-up collection!

2.Rimmel London Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch - £4.99
I love Rimmel London. Their products rarely ever disappoint me and this is just something that really intrigues me. I'm quite into a glowy, dewey make-up look right now so this could be something that I would quite like!

This is a new product from Rimmel so there's not a lot I can say about it for now. This is basically a soft creamy eyeshadow pencil, which should be really easy to blend and hopefully will be super pigmented which it does look from the images. This comes in 5 different shades and there's a few that I'd like to try but I feel like a nude, beige colour would be the best colour to start off with first.

4. theBalm Nude' Tude Eyeshadow Palette - £26
Again this was also featured in EssieButtons June Beauty Favourites and since then I have been lusting after this product. The packaging is beautiful, I love the pin-up girl theme. The eyeshadow names themselves are really amusing and the colours just look fabulous. There's a great range of matt shades and really shimmery ones so you can create a variety of looks with this palette. I personally love the shade "Sexy", it's a beautiful reddish brown shade which I think would compliment hazel eyes wonderfully!

5. Bourjois Lipstick Colour Boost Crayon in Orange Punch - Price Unknown
This is a new product by Bourjois and this is their take on the recent chubby stick craze. I've heard good things about this Lip Crayon, in particular their Peach on the Beach shade. I however, really want to try the Orange Punch colour as I'm really into glossy peachy lip colours right now.

6. Sleek Pout Paint in Lava - £4.99

The Sleek Pout Paints have been out for a little while now and despite really wanting one, I still haven't picked one up yet. I'm desperate to try one of these out, especially the shade Lava as this is a stunning orangey, red colour. These pout paints are extremely pigmented and are definitely good value for money.

7. Bourjois Bronzing Primer - Price Unknown
This is another new product from Bourjois which has been very well hyped! I've heard loads of people say good things about this product so I'm desperate to get my hands on it and see if they hype is true!

8. MUA Sheer Lipgloss in Happy Days - £1
I'm not usually a lipgloss type of person but the colour of this is so lovely that I can't resist it. The lip-glosses I have are all very nude shades so it'd be nice to add this peachy pink shade to my collection and have something a bit different!

That's all for my make-up wishlist. I hope you enjoyed!
If you've tried any of these products out let me know your opinions, I'd love to hear.

Hope you're all well.

Paige.

My Top 5 Summer Lip Products.

Hello My Lovelies!

Today's post will be all about my Top 5 Summer Lip Products. I referred to them as "Lip Products" as I've picked a selection of lip creams, lipsticks and a chubby stick. These are a selection of products that I've personally enjoyed wearing now that we've got some nice weather, some of these are quite bright and others are more sheer but I believe all of them are great for this time of year! On with the post..

1. MUA Power Pout in Justify

If you saw my mini haul a few days ago you would have saw that I had recently picked this up and had already expressed how pleased I was with it. This chubby stick is an orange shade so don't be fooled by this light, sheer swatch. This colour goes on at first like a sheer, lightly coloured gloss, however after a few applications you begin to build up the colour and it intensifies into a really glossy coral colour which is so perfect for this time of year. It looks great on both pale and tanned skin, it's long lasting and as it's a glossy finish it feels very comfortable on the lips.

2. Rimmel Apocalips - Big Bang

I bought this product a few months back and it's become one of my favourite red lip colours. It's honestly the most amazing bright red colour I've come across. This lip stain is so pigmented, you only need to put a tiny bit on the lips to get a really bright red colour, so a little goes a long way with this product. If you apply quite a generous application, not only does the colour intensify but it also builds up a really nice glossy finish so this product is like a lipstick and lipgloss all in one which may not be to everyone's taste but I really love it for this time of year. I will warn you however that I find this product incredibly messy. I always seem to get it all over my hands and all over my teeth and I have no idea why!

3. MAC Coral Bliss Cremesheen Lipstick

This is my only high end lip product in this post and it is one of my favourite lip colours right now. Similar to Justify by MUA, this is another glossy, sheer orange colour however this one is more on the peachy side. Again this looks amazing on pale skin and will probably also suit a lot of other skin tones. I have done a post about my MAC lipsticks before, where you can see how this looks on my lips as the swatch doesn't really do it justice here. As this lipstick is a cremesheen finish, the colour will never come out as intense as it looks in the bullet so please bare that in mind incase you buy this and are disappointed.

4. Manhattan Matte Lip Cream in 53M

This Matte Lip Cream doesn't have a name which is disappointing however it does have a number, 53M. This lip cream is a deep, mauvey pink colour which looks great on both tanned and pale skin. It can be really vibrant once you build it up and is a nice change from the usual expected bright lip colours for this time of year. It's not an in your face Barbie pink at all but it's still incredibly appropriate for the summer.

5. Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Citrus Slice

This lipstick is more of a lip balm than anything as it adds little to almost no colour. It does however add a beautiful glossy shine to the lips which feels really refreshing and comfortable. It looks very subtle yet is still very suited to this time of year. A nice shine to your lips makes your appearance instantly look brighter or at least I think so anyway!

Swatches of all the products.

That's it for today's post! I hope you enjoyed it and maybe it's even inspired you to try some of these products?

Let me know what your favourite summer lip products are or what your thoughts are on any of my picks.

Hope you're all well!

Paige.

Mini Haul #3

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a mini haul for you all. It's been a while since I've done a bit of shopping as I never have any money. However recently, I caved and did a bit of spending but oh well! We all deserve a bit of retail therapy every now and again. In this haul I have items from Missguided, Primark and Superdrug. So enough babbling, and on with the post!

Last week I noticed that Missguided had started something called their "Sweet Deals" range. Where basically they stock a load of good staple wardrobe pieces in a range of colours and also at super affordable prices! I couldn't help myself but start adding things to my basket! My boyfriend kindly bought me two things from this range as a little present to cheer me up and I also bought myself an item from this range. I also had a look through the sale on Missguided and got an accessory.

I bought myself the Mirabela Value Bardot Skater Dress In Grey. This only cost me £6.99 and I just know I'm going to get so much wear out of it. I have a similar version of this dress which I got from Topshop last year, that dress cost me £30 and is more of a t-shirt style at the top, with a high neckline and short sleeves, however I much prefer this one and it was so much cheaper! As this is a Bardot dress it sits off the shoulder, which means it's a dress that allows you to be subtly sexy. The skater shape means that this dress cinches you in at just the right place and emphasises your waist in a flattering way. This dress can easily go from day to night with the simple use of makeup and accessories. I really love this dress and think it's a great piece to invest in. So I highly recommend it!

Next thing that I bought myself was this adorable set of collar tips. I've been eyeing them up for so long when they were fully priced and I was overjoyed when I noticed them in the sale. These are called the Klue Bird Collar Tips and they feature beautiful engraved bird detailing with a lovely gold chain linking them together. I absolutely adore these and cannot wait to put them on a shirt. If you're interested in getting these you better act fast as they are in the sale for £2.99!

Back to the sweet deals range from Missguided now. My boyfriend ordered me this beautiful, white Almina Value Halterneck Bodysuit which retails for £7.49. I can't wait to wear this on a night out, or even out and about in the sun with a pair of high waisted denim shorts. This halter neck bodysuit had a really plunging back which is extremely sexy. I love items of clothing that show off this area of skin as it's sexy but in an elegant sort of way. This is slightly sheer so I would recommend you wear this with a good white backless bra. I'm yet to wear it out as I don't have the right bra for it but when I do sort myself out, I will be wearing this a lot!

The final thing from Missguided, and the sweet deals range is this wine coloured midi skirt. Sorry for the creases, it was hanging up in my cupboard and has somehow gotten all creased. This is called the Madeline Value Double Layer Midi Skirt and is available in a range of colours. This retails for £5.99 which I think is great value for a midi skirt! I think this would look amazing with that halter neck bodysuit I got and even with cute little crop tops. I only have one other midi skirt and that's in a grey colour so I decided to be brave and pick something more colourful and I'm so glad I went for this beautiful wine / burgundy colour. It's so elegant and I cannot wait to wear it!

The next place I got stuff from was Superdrug. Now the first thing I picked up isn't really anything too interesting but it's the new Impulse body spray in Violet and Raspberry. I'm yet to try this as I only picked it up today, however I can't wait to use it and hopefully it smells amazing!

Another boring item, but this is the Nivea Stress Protect Anti-perspirant. I've never used this before but hopefully I like it. I'm yet to find a deodorant that I really like so I thought I'd give this a go and see what it's like.

Once again, another boring deodorant.. I picked this up also in my quest to try and find a deodorant that I do genuinely love. I don't believe I've tried this one before so with any luck it's a good one!

Finally something interesting! This is MUA's answer to the latest chubby stick craze. This is called the MUA Power Pout and is available in 6 different shades, each cost £3. I picked up the orange shade called Justify as I have a real thing for orange lip colours right now. I'm wearing this already and I can just tell that it's going to be one of my new favourites. The colour glides on easily and at first goes on quite subtle but can be built up into a really intense peachy colour. It has a nice glossy finish to it which means it's quite moisturising on the lips and therefore is very comfortable to wear. There's a great selection of colours and at such a good price it's hard not to resist buying them all!

This is Collection's "Work The Colour" Eyeshadow Pencil. This is a creamy eyeshadow in the form of a pencil, meaning it should glide on very easily and should be quite blendable. I'm yet to use this product so I can't really say too much about it. I picked this up in shade, Vanilla Sky, there are 6 shades in total and all are priced at a reasonable £3.19.

Next thing I picked up was MUA's intense colour eyeliner in Jet Black. I needed a decent black eyeliner for my waterline as the No.7 one that I have right now is not very long lasting. I picked this one up as it looked like a really intense black colour and it was only a £1! It also has a sharpener built into the lid which I think is just a fantastic idea as I'm always loosing the sharpeners for my eyeliners.

Next I went to Primark on the look out for props for an up coming shoot I'm doing and I just had to pick up these sunglasses. They're so amazing I just couldn't leave them! As you can see from the photo they're circular framed but with 2 heart cut outs. These are my first pair of tortoise shell glasses and I'm not too sure if these will suit my face at all but like I said, I just couldn't leave them behind. These retail for £3.

The next and final thing I picked up was a 3 pack of hair scruchies. Yes that's right, hair scrunchies. I picked these up for my next photoshoot. I'm not too sure If I myself will be wearing them but for lazy days where I just want to get all my hair off my face I guess they'll come in handy!

So that's it for my haul everyone. I know some items weren't too exciting but I thought I'd share them with all of you anyway.

I hope you're all well!

Paige.
