New In: Missguided Pieces

Hello Readers,

I've been on a spending ban recently and managed to go almost four months without treating myself to anything. Which is pretty amazing by my standards, especially as I find that reading a lot of blogs / watching a lot of beauty and fashion content on Youtube really does sway me into buying things that I probably could have lived without. After going so long without picking any bits up I finally decided it was time to reward myself as we all deserve the odd treat every now and again! It just so happened to be around the time that Missguided sent an email out promoting 30% off of selected items. I had a night out coming up so quickly took the chance to snap up a new outfit at a discounted price.

This was the playsuit I picked up for my night out - now admittedly it's not something I ever thought I'd like as typically when I go on nights out I either wear black, white or red. I don't think I've ever gone out in something so loud yet there was something that really drew me to this. I really love the dark, romantic feel to this playsuit. It looks lovely with a little black belt to cinch in the waist and some chunky black heels to add some height. I wore my MAC Rebel lipstick with this and honestly, it's like a match made in heaven. Perfect combination of colours! I managed to get this for £19.45 all together including delivery thanks to the discount code.

Mintare Crop Top with Spaghetti Straps - £9.99

I didn't intend to order any other items from Missguided until 12 days later - when Missguided sent me another email offering a discount code. This time they were doing a secret 24 hour discount for those who are signed up to their email list (seriously it's worth doing, they offer a lot of discounts!) In this email they gave you a code which when used at checkout would either be worth 10%, 15% or 20% so I decided to check mine and what do you know?! It happened to be worth 20% so I just had to pick some stuff up! First up I got this Mintare Crop Top with Spaghetti Straps in black. I've been looking at getting this little top for so long and finally decided to get it. It's a great little basic which fits me so well. I definitely think I'm going to pick up a few more - some printed ones would be great!

The final thing I picked up is this pair of Lace trim Shorts. Again, this isn't something I'd typically go for but I found myself really drawn to them. They're very easy to style and could easily go from day to night so I hope to get lots of use out of them! Look out for these being featured in an outfit post very soon.

That's all for this small haul. I know it isn't much but I just thought I'd show you the new pieces that I've just added to my wardrobe. If you haven't had a look at Missguided before then I highly recommend checking them out. They have a fantastic range of clothes, shoes, accessories etc and all of it is very reasonably priced. It's probably my favourite place to shop now! Also, they've recently been giving out free Kinder Buenos with each order which is a nice little bonus! Free chocolate and discounted clothes *Heavenly*

That's all for this post! I hope you're all well.

Tropical Vibes

Hello Readers,

Today I have a little fashion mood board to share with you all. As we're getting closer to Summer (apparently) the highstreet stores are flourishing with bright vibrant colours and in your face tropical prints. I'm not the biggest fan of colour, in fact if you've been reading this blog for a while, you'll know that I'm pretty much a full on monochrome lover. It's a rare occasion if I'm ever wearing colour, however this year bright colours have been really catching my eye and I've found myself lusting after neon pieces and quirky patterned clothes. Here I've put together an outfit consisting of some of the Tropical inspired pieces that River Island are currently stocking. I 100% need to go and get that skirt at some point as this is one I feel like I can't go without..

1. Yellow High Neck Crop Top  - £10
2. Blue Floral Print Skirt - £25
3. Gold Tone Mixed Rings - £8
4. Yellow Peep Toe Platforms - £55
5. Gold Tone Slinky Bar Necklace - £12
6. Purple perspex embellished box clutch bag - £35

That's all for this post! I hope you're all well.

Shop The Stash

Hello Readers,

I was recently looking through my make-up collection when I realised just how many products I have that I just don't ever seem to use. I'm not by any means the worst for hoarding make-up, however I do go through phases where I'll buy a few products all at once and some just seem to never get used as I get overwhelmed having so many new things to try out. I've decided to "Shop My Stash" in other words, instead of going out and buying more unnecessary products I'm going to use some of the ones that I've neglected. I've chose a good range of products some which I have used, others which I have not. I aim to review these products in the near future and hopefully I'll have some new favourite products to share with you all!

The products that I've challenged myself to start using are;
Dainty Doll Concealer Shade 1
As you can see I've used this product a few times but not enough to have fully formed an opinion on it. I'm starting to run out of my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer so it's perfect timing for me to give this one a go.
Rimmel "Stay Blushed" Cheek Tint in 004 Sunkissed Cherry
Okay, I know I got this a while ago but I'm pretty sure I've only used it once. How terrible of me! I was meant to try this out so I could review it for my blog however I just never seemed to reach for it. It's very intensely pigmented and I think that might be what scares me!
MaxFactor Xperience Foundation in the shade Light Ivory.
This actually used to be my go to foundation before I came across my Gosh BB Cream. I've used this since I was about 15 years old, (not this exact tube of course) and really like it. It really does live up to it's claims and can't wait to start using it again!
Collection's Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in the shade Vanilla Sky.
I've used this quite a few times and it's a great product, particularly for highlighting the inner corners. However as I don't actually bother doing anything exciting for my everyday makeup. I find that I don't reach for this at all which is a shame.
Urban Decay Cream Shadow in the shade Suburbia.
Again, I've used this a few times however because I literally don't bother much with eye make-up, I've found that it just doesn't get the use it deserves. It's a beautiful little product which I'm going to start using more often.
ELF HD Blush in the shade Superstar.
I featured this in my
ELF haul post back in November. In which I said I was yet to actually try the product, but from swatching it, it looked promising. Well I'm a bad blogger and haven't used it at all since! I really need to give it a go and hopefully will be able to review it for you all very soon.

That's all for this post. I hope you're all well!
I shall report back to you on my findings some time soon.

My Birthday!

Hello Readers!

I am SO sorry for how long I've been neglecting my blog. It's been almost 2 weeks since my last post! Since my last post, I've finally finished my UCAS application, had a job interview and celebrated my birthday. So I've been fairly productive as of lately. Since it was my 19th birthday on Friday the 15th, I decided to do a post showing you just some of the things I received. Now I'd just like to add a little disclaimer saying that I'm not trying to brag or show off. I'm incredibly grateful for what I got!

My boyfriend very kindly got me this beautiful daisy print jumper from Boohoo. I'm a little late on the daisy print train but I couldn't care less, I absolutely love this and can't wait to start wearing it.
Next up is the absolutely stunning monochrome floral crop top from Missguided. This shirt is so me, monochrome, floral and cropped. It's something that I'm just drawn to! My boyfriend also very kindly got me this after seeing it on my birthday wishlist post.
I'm aware that this picture does the item no justice whatsoever but this is the black Bardot skater dress from Missguided's Sweet Deal range. It's a style staple and I can't wait to style this up. Again this is also from my boyfriend!
The final thing my boyfriend got me was this oatmeal coloured jumper from Boohoo. I've already worn this so many times since getting it as it's a classic style staple piece and since most of my wardrobe is made up of black items, this works very well!
The next thing I got was a new phone! I believe this is the LG Optimus L5 ( I think). I'm really not a tech savvy person so I couldn't say for sure. My parents very kindly bought me this as they were so annoyed with my previous phone which was extremely temperamental.  They bought me this so I can stay in touch with them better so I'm extremely grateful for that!
My friend Hannah very kindly picked me up this pack of bracelets. There's a mix of gold and silver bracelets, majority of them are spikes and then there's one chain one which I've already wore a few times since receiving. These bracelets make a great little addition to any outfit and I love them!
My boyfriends mum very kindly bought me these cute little fluffy footlets and this adorable polka dot hot water bottle, which is exactly what I need now that it's getting cold. I'm not a big slipper person so I really like these footlets as they're like a cross between socks and slippers, I love wearing them around the flat!
Next up we have some delicious chocolate, because it's not a birthday without chocolate right? I've already almost finished one of the boxes so I'm sure it won't be long now until they're all gone!
Next I have some Alphabetights in silver which again, I very kindly got from my friend Hannah. I had these before and very sadly ripped them whilst I was at college so I was extremely happy to get them again!
Lastly, is a little bit of a joke present but I love it none the less. I don't know if any of my readers know this about me but I absolutely love Adventure Time. Which is a whacky cartoon shown on Cartoon Network, you may be thinking well isn't it for kids? But no, I swear with some of the references and themes, this cartoon is meant for adults! My friend Hannah got this for me also, so thank you very much to her for fuelling my love for Finn and Jake!

That's all for my birthday haul, I did receive a little bit of money but I've pretty much used it all now on a photoshoot and a night out. I'm extremely grateful for everything I got and hopefully you didn't mind me showing you.

I hope you're all well.

OOTD #9

Hello Readers!

Today's post is an outfit of the day. I've been busy photographing a prom today and now I'm eating a Chinese, watching a movie and trying to edit the photos as well as typing this out (multi-tasking at it's finest) so I've not really had time to do anything other than a simple post so I hope you don't mind. The heat wave continues in England! So amazingly I'm still digging out the summer clothing. As you may be able to see from these photos, I've caught the sun on my knee caps which is why they're bright red and incredibly painful.

I got the shirt and skirt from Topshop about two years ago so I don't think they'll be available anymore although they could have something similar out right now. I'm wearing Coral Bliss by MAC in these shots as it's my favourite lipstick right now, I love how this lipstick picks out the coral tones in the skirt and helps compliment them.

My Makeup Storage.

Hello Readers!

Now today's post is all about my makeup storage. I feel like this will probably be quite a short post as I'm not really sure just how much I can say about it, so I hope you don't mind too much. I have what I'd say is a normal sized makeup collection, there's not too much but there's a fair amount of it to say the least. I store all of my makeup in a large floral box which I purchased from Asda. I think it was around £10 but I can't say for sure.

I'm becoming a bit more of a makeup fanatic these days so I think I'm going to have to upgrade my storage as it's beginning to be a bit of a struggle to fit everything in. Storing everything in one box does look pretty, however it's not very convenient at times as trying to find one product can be really difficult. It takes me forever to rummage throughout all of my makeup trying to find my smaller bits of makeup such as my concealers, liquid liners or mascara samples.

If I do find an alternative solution for storage I will do an update on my makeup storage but as for now I shall have to make do with what I have!

I hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully found it somewhat interesting!

Paige.

My Photography.

Hello Readers!

Now today's post is a bit of a different one to what has previously been posted on here. It's a photography post but I guess you could say it's still a beauty and fashion related post. I thought it was about time I began incorporating my photography into my blog as it's a big part of my life. I'm currently at college doing a BTEC in Photography and I'm coming up to the end of my final project there. My final project is completely self directed, and I've really enjoyed having the freedom to do whatever I want. My project is called "Fashion and Beauty: An Editorial Collection".

This project involved me studying current fashion and beauty trends for Spring / Summer 2013. I've spent so much time researching magazines, online blogs, YouTube videos and just looking at the high street stores in general to help expand my knowledge of the current Spring / Summer trends.

I ended up doing a shortlist of the trends that I wanted to capture for my project which were as follows:

-Monochrome
-Neon
-60's
-Floral
-Pastels
-Ladylike / Debutante

It's been a long process and it's certainly not been without it's difficulties, but I'm proud of what I've managed to achieve so far! I'm currently preparing myself for the big gallery night which my college holds every year. This year, I have the chance to showcase my work in this gallery and I can't wait to see the finished result! It's going to be so amazing seeing my work printed in such a massive size and on show to hundreds of local people. I'm so excited yet scared at the same time!

So I thought I'd share with you, the readers of my blog, some of my images which I have taken for my assignment.

Well that's all I'm going to share for now! I'll take some pictures of the final show when I've got all my prints mounted. I can't wait to share the results with you guys!

Let me know what you think of my work! I'd love to hear some feedback.
