The Lipstick Tag

Hello Readers,

I was recently tagged by the lovely Rheya from Pixirella.blogspot.com to discuss my collection of lip products. I'd never heard of this tag before, however after reading through it I think it's a really great tag, if you're a lip product lover then it's highly worth reading or even doing yourself!

So enough chatting and on with the tag..

How many lipsticks do you own?
I own 23 lipsticks in total, 2 lipcreams, 1 lipstain, 1 matt lip colour pen, 1 chubby stick, 5 lipglosses and 2 lip balms. I honestly don't know how I've acquired that many but oh well!

What was your first lipstick?
I honestly couldn't tell you what my first lipstick was. When I was a little girl my nan gave me a bag of her makeup to keep. I was only a small child at the time so I just played around with it giving me and my little brother makeovers *sorry jack* and putting lipstick on dolls etc. I do remember my favourite lipstick from the lot being a beautiful plummy red colour. I think some of the first lipsticks I played around with were from Avon, however I'm not entirely sure.

What is your most worn lipstick?
I'd say my most worn lipstick without a doubt is MAC's Myth. Myth is a satin finish lipstick and is my only one at that. I picked myth up in the Summer of last year and have used it so many times now that it's almost all gone. It's my favourite nude and it looks incredible on a night out with a little bit of pink gloss on top.

What is your favourite brand of lipstick?
Oh goodness this is a hard one. Overall I guess I'd have to say Rimmel, as they have a huge range of colours, majority of the lipsticks are really good quality and have great colour payoff and last for quite long! They're also extremely affordable.

What is your favourite finish?
My favourite finish would have to be matte. I personally prefer the way that matte lipsticks look on me and I'm not really sure why.

What is the last lip product you brought?
It's actually been a long time since I last purchased a lip product. I do believe it was a MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint and Balm in the shade Justify. They are basically MUA's answer to the chubby stick craze and the colour I picked up is a beautiful orange shade. The colour is beautiful and it was only £3 so it was a good deal!

How many lip products do you have in your bag?
I currently only have one lip product in my bag and that is a lipstick. It's Rimmel's Lasting Perfection Lipstick in the shade Starry - Eyed as I was wearing it yesterday. I only ever have the lip product I'm wearing on that day in my bag.

What product do you use to rock a red lip?
I'm probably about to offend the entire beauty blogging world here by saying that I do not use any lip liners or lip scrubs etc before putting on a red lip. I literally just use whatever red lipstick I feel like and put it on without much thought about it. I normally go for either MAC's Russian Red, Rimmel's Tantrum or Rimmel's Apocalips in Big Bang as they are my favourite red shades.

How do you store your lipsticks?
I actually did a post about this a little while ago which you can see if you click here. You can also see how I store my lipsticks from the image above. I keep all my lipsticks in a acrylic make-up organizer which I got from Amazon for £7.33. It's really good quality and quite a good alternative to expensive Muji storage.

What lip products are you currently lusting over?
I really want to try some of the new lasting finish lipsticks that Rimmel have just come out with. I also want to get my hands on MAC's Lady Danger as I think it looks like a beautiful colour.

That's all for this tag post! I hope you've enjoyed and found it interesting. I found it really enjoyable to do so thanks once again to Rheya for tagging me to do it!

I tag any of you reading this to do this tag if you haven't already!

Hope you're all well.

My Lipstick Storage.

Hello Readers!

Today's post will be all about my lipstick storage. I mentioned in my makeup storage post that I kept everything in one big box, however I recently updated how I store some of my makeup and moved all my lipsticks into one plastic holder.

Find the exact same lipstick holder here:

I got this storage from Amazon.co.uk, it's called the Danielle Large Acrylic Make-up Organizer. This retails for £7.33 and the delivery is free. I also would just like to add that I had a really good experience with this seller and I had my product within a few days of placing my order. The holder is quite a thick acrylic material so it is quite good quality for those of you who may be concerned.

This holder has 16 slots especially made for holding lipsticks, 3 stands at the back which can hold an assortment of products, I keep my lip stains and lip creams in there if that helps to give you an idea of the dimensions of this section of the holder. Then on the left side it has a small flat compartment where you could keep blushes, nail varnishes, bottles of foundation etc. I personally use the whole plastic storage solely for my lipsticks as I could never fit all my makeup into this one holder. However I think this would be quite nice to use to store my most reached for pieces of makeup or even my everyday makeup products, so in time I may switch it up and use it for that instead. For the time being it will continue to hold my lipsticks, lip stains, and lip creams.

As you can see from these images I have a fair few lipsticks ranging from all sorts of different brands. Some MAC, Some Rimmel, Some Topshop etc! I will be doing a few posts in the future about my lipsticks so you will have that to enjoy reading in time however for now this is it!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and that maybe you found it somewhat helpful if you're looking for any storage ideas or recommendations.

Hope you're all well!

Paige.

My Makeup Brush Storage.

Hello Readers!

Now today's post is a follow up to my recent makeup storage post, however this time it's all about my makeup brushes instead! Once again this will probably be a short post as there really isn't a lot I can say about my makeup brushes. Let it be known now that I actually don't own very many makeup brushes at all. When I was a bit younger I used my hands to apply my foundation, I used the tiny little eye shadow applicators to put on any eye makeup and I didn't wear any blush till I was a bit older so for a while there was no need for me to have brushes.

I'm pretty sure my nan was the person who gave me my first makeup brush. She made up a little makeup bag for me which was full of old makeup that she no longer used. This makeup was for me to play about with when I used to put on fashion shows in her living room. Inside that little kit was a big all over face / blush brush which is actually pictured above! I began slowly buying makeup brushes over time, I didn't ever stick to a specific brand, it was just whatever I could afford at the time. Some of my brushes I acquired through makeup sets, others were from a brand called Eco Tools, some were from H&M, some from ELF and the rest are Real Techniques.

I keep all my brushes in this little white bucket which I picked up from a store called The Range. I got this in the sale for about £2.50. I think this is originally meant to be a tea light burner however this little bucket is just so cute to ruin with wax and it holds all my makeup brushes perfectly. I really like the see through heart detail on either side, as this allows me to see my shorter makeup brushes such as my kabuki's or little lip brushes that I keep in there.

Sorry this has been such a short post!

I hope you find it somewhat enjoyable.

Paige.

My Makeup Storage.

Hello Readers!

Now today's post is all about my makeup storage. I feel like this will probably be quite a short post as I'm not really sure just how much I can say about it, so I hope you don't mind too much. I have what I'd say is a normal sized makeup collection, there's not too much but there's a fair amount of it to say the least. I store all of my makeup in a large floral box which I purchased from Asda. I think it was around £10 but I can't say for sure.

I'm becoming a bit more of a makeup fanatic these days so I think I'm going to have to upgrade my storage as it's beginning to be a bit of a struggle to fit everything in. Storing everything in one box does look pretty, however it's not very convenient at times as trying to find one product can be really difficult. It takes me forever to rummage throughout all of my makeup trying to find my smaller bits of makeup such as my concealers, liquid liners or mascara samples.

If I do find an alternative solution for storage I will do an update on my makeup storage but as for now I shall have to make do with what I have!

I hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully found it somewhat interesting!

Paige.
