Holiday Beauty Essentials

Somehow we're already in July and every social network I go on, people are counting down the days till they go on holiday. I personally am not going away this year *sobs* but I thought I'd do a post showing you all my holiday beauty essentials anyway. I've not included the obvious products such as a good SPF and moisturiser, instead I've chosen to show beauty items that you'd reach for probably more in the evening time when going out for dinner or drinks. Of course there's nothing stopping you wearing these in the day if you wanted to!

GOSH CC Cream Illuminating Foundation

This is probably one of my favourite face products to date and I've not even not even had it a month yet. It's the perfect kind of foundation for everyday use - especially in a hot climate. It gives a light yet even coverage which looks very natural. As it is a colour correcting foundation it evens out and reduces any redness in the skin whilst creating a dewy finish. It feels very lightweight on the skin, not oily or cakey in the slightest plus it leaves your skin feeling extremely soft. It does contain SPF 10, however you may want to apply a little bit of SPF before putting this on just so you are protecting your face from any harsh sunlight. This product is ideal for travelling with due to it's squeezable tube design and nozzle applicator meaning no mess and no fuss! I'll have a full review about this CC cream coming up on my blog very soon.

MAC Coral Bliss Lipstick

Coral Bliss is a light shade of coral with a slightly pinky hue to it. It's a cremesheen finish meaning the colour transfers slightly more sheer than what it looks in the bullet and leaves a glossy finish on the lips. Due to the glossy finish this is a very light and comfortable lipstick to wear however the finish does also mean that it's not particularly long lasting and does require touch ups every 2-3 hours, especially if eating or drinking. Coral Bliss is a very nice, neutral coral shade which looks perfect on every skin tone. It really compliments a tan and helps to brighten up your complexion - creating a truly radiant look. The perfect Summer lipstick without a doubt!

Benefit The Porefessional Primer

A primer is a must when you find yourself in a hot environment, it keeps your make-up in place and also helps it to last longer. I really like the Porefessional primer as it feels silky and smooth, it blends really easily and it does even out my skin tone ever so slightly. After moisturising my face I apply a small pea sized amount of this product on my finger and then dab a little bit on my chin, forehead, cheeks and nose, then using my fingers I blend it in. You really don't need much of this at all as a little goes a long way and you will notice a difference in the staying power of your make-up!

Sleek Contour Kit

Nothing accentuates a tan more than a little bit of bronzer and highlight and the Sleek Contour kit is the perfect handy little compact which allows you to do both. Both the highlight and the bronzer are really pigmented so you don't need to use a lot of product to get your desired look, plus they're really blendable and long lasting. The bronzer is a lovely matte brown shade, not muddy or too orange like some bronzers tend to be. The highlight is a gorgeous peachy champagne colour which suits all skin tones and really illuminates the face. The compact itself is very sturdy and looks to be of very high quality. The packaging is a really nice matte black, with a fairly large sized mirror inside - perfect for on the go touch ups. Due to it's small size this is ideal for travel which is another big reason I had to feature it in my Holiday Beauty Essentials. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality contour kit which doesn't break the bank.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette - Lace

The Sleek Blush by 3 Palette is ideal for those who'd like to create a variety of different make-up looks but don't want the hassle of having to pack a million different products. This palette contains 3 beautiful coloured blushes, all of which are really intensely pigmented and so easy to blend.

The three shades within the palette are;
Crochet
Guipure
Chantilly

Crochet is a matte peachy orange, Guipure is a peach toned pink with flecks of gold shimmer running throughout and Chantilly is a bright red toned pink which at first glance looks rather terrifying but really it's not. This particular selection of colours are perfect for the Summer months as they're so bright and fun - they're amazing on tanned skin however they do work for pale skin also, you just need to be a little light handed on the application. I personally love to mix a little of Crochet and Guipure together and apply that on to my cheeks and I find it just creates the most amazing flush of colour - it really makes my skin look so much more radiant and healthy. The palette itself contains a large mirror and is an ideal size for travelling. If you'd like to see a more detailed review of this product that you can by clicking here.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

The Naked Basics Palette is the most ideal neutral eyeshadow palette to travel with. It contains 6 shades, 5 of which are matte whilst the other one has a slight shimmer to it. The shades inside the palette are as follows;

Venus, Foxy, Walk of Shame, Naked 2, Faint and Crave.
Venus is the shimmery white shade. Foxy is a creamy, yellow shade. Walk of Shame is a beige / pink colour. Naked 2 is a light beige brown colour. Faint is a chocolate shade and crave is a very dark black colour.

This fantastic range of shades can very easily carry you from a day to a night look simply by adding one of the darker colours in order to create a smokey eye. I believe this palette can very easily double as a brow kit due to the great selection of colours and if you really want, Venus makes a great highlight also! It's a handy multi purpose palette which also happens to be a very travel friendly size - which is a nice change from the difficultly large size of the original Naked Palettes. Again if you're interested in reading more about this product you can see my review here

That's all for my round up of my holiday beauty essentials! Let me know what you think of some of these products, or if there are any products you'd personally recommend me to try!

I hope you're all well.

Sleek Lace Blush Palette Review

Hello Readers,

Today I will be reviewing the Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace. I've been after this product for quite sometime now, yet I just never seemed to pick it up. I've popped into Superdrug countless times to look at it, and have almost ordered it on Amazon an abundance of times. However, I very kindly received it as a Christmas Present from one of my boyfriends sisters, which I am extremely thankful for! I'm no stranger to Sleek, it's a brand which I am quite familiar with as I now have a few products from them. It's a brand that rarely ever seems to disappoint as most of their products are high quality, extremely pigmented, affordable and not to mention accessible!
The Blush By 3 Palette is a palette consisting of 3 blushes - obvious I know! There are 6 different palettes to choose from and those are;
-Flame
-Lace
-Pink Spirit
- Pumpkin
- Sugar
- Sweet Cheeks

All are priced at £9.99 which is an absolute steal for 3 blushes!
All of the palettes are full of extremely bright and pigmented colours however Lace was the palette I wanted in particular as I felt like it had the most wearable shades to suit my skin tone. As usual it comes in Sleeks trade mark lightweight black and if you'll pardon the cringey pun, "sleek" packaging. It's simple yet classy and that's what I like about it.There's a full size mirror within the compact meaning this is the perfect product to take on the go with you as touch ups are easy!
There's a fantastic selection of shades within the palette I chose, all of which are very bright orange / coral toned and are extremely pigmented. You also get a range of finishes, the palette contains 2 matte blushes and 1 shimmery one.

The three shades within the palette are;
Crochet
Guipure
Chantilly.

Crochet is the bright orange peachy shade which at first glance looks quite intimidating as it's so bright, however you just need the tiniest amount on a brush to be able to create a perfect, healthy looking flush of colour to the face. Crochet is a matte blush.
Guipure is the only shimmery blush within the palette. It's a peach toned pink with very fine golden flecks all throughout it. Shimmery blushes aren't typically what I go for, I'm normally a matte kind of girl however this blush looks lovely on the skin and gives you a glowy finish without looking like you've just whacked a load of glitter on your face. This is also a great blush to layer on top of other blushes.
Chantilly is probably the most scary looking one within the palette. It's a bright red toned pink which is a colour I don't think I've ever owned in my life. All of my blush shades are either pink or coral so this is something really new for me. Like Crochet, this is another colour which also requires only a minimal amount on a brush to be able to create a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks. If you have a darker skin tone you may be able to get away with layering this up a bit however on us extremely pale girls, we need to go easy on it! Just a small amount and the right amount of blending makes this wearable for even the palest of skin tones.
Swatches of all the colours.

As mentioned before, all the shades are incredibly pigmented, they layer well, blend rather easily and last pretty much all day on the skin!

Overall I feel like this palette probably is more suited to the Summer months however that's not going to stop me from continuing to use it now, even in gloomy January! Crochet is fast becoming one of my favourite shades to reach for. I've even had my boyfriend tell me how much he likes that shade on me so if a boy notices it, that's got to be a good thing right?!

If you're yet to try any Sleek products I highly recommend you give them ago. It's a brand that provides great high quality products for low prices and they have the most amazing colour range.

That's all for this post, I know I'm a bit late when it comes to reviewing this product as it's been out for a while now but hopefully this review comes in handy to someone!

Have you tried this product? What do you think of it?
What Sleek products would you recommend?

I hope you're all well.

My Top 5 Summer Lip Products.

Hello My Lovelies!

Today's post will be all about my Top 5 Summer Lip Products. I referred to them as "Lip Products" as I've picked a selection of lip creams, lipsticks and a chubby stick. These are a selection of products that I've personally enjoyed wearing now that we've got some nice weather, some of these are quite bright and others are more sheer but I believe all of them are great for this time of year! On with the post..

1. MUA Power Pout in Justify

If you saw my mini haul a few days ago you would have saw that I had recently picked this up and had already expressed how pleased I was with it. This chubby stick is an orange shade so don't be fooled by this light, sheer swatch. This colour goes on at first like a sheer, lightly coloured gloss, however after a few applications you begin to build up the colour and it intensifies into a really glossy coral colour which is so perfect for this time of year. It looks great on both pale and tanned skin, it's long lasting and as it's a glossy finish it feels very comfortable on the lips.

2. Rimmel Apocalips - Big Bang

I bought this product a few months back and it's become one of my favourite red lip colours. It's honestly the most amazing bright red colour I've come across. This lip stain is so pigmented, you only need to put a tiny bit on the lips to get a really bright red colour, so a little goes a long way with this product. If you apply quite a generous application, not only does the colour intensify but it also builds up a really nice glossy finish so this product is like a lipstick and lipgloss all in one which may not be to everyone's taste but I really love it for this time of year. I will warn you however that I find this product incredibly messy. I always seem to get it all over my hands and all over my teeth and I have no idea why!

3. MAC Coral Bliss Cremesheen Lipstick

This is my only high end lip product in this post and it is one of my favourite lip colours right now. Similar to Justify by MUA, this is another glossy, sheer orange colour however this one is more on the peachy side. Again this looks amazing on pale skin and will probably also suit a lot of other skin tones. I have done a post about my MAC lipsticks before, where you can see how this looks on my lips as the swatch doesn't really do it justice here. As this lipstick is a cremesheen finish, the colour will never come out as intense as it looks in the bullet so please bare that in mind incase you buy this and are disappointed.

4. Manhattan Matte Lip Cream in 53M

This Matte Lip Cream doesn't have a name which is disappointing however it does have a number, 53M. This lip cream is a deep, mauvey pink colour which looks great on both tanned and pale skin. It can be really vibrant once you build it up and is a nice change from the usual expected bright lip colours for this time of year. It's not an in your face Barbie pink at all but it's still incredibly appropriate for the summer.

5. Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Citrus Slice

This lipstick is more of a lip balm than anything as it adds little to almost no colour. It does however add a beautiful glossy shine to the lips which feels really refreshing and comfortable. It looks very subtle yet is still very suited to this time of year. A nice shine to your lips makes your appearance instantly look brighter or at least I think so anyway!

Swatches of all the products.

That's it for today's post! I hope you enjoyed it and maybe it's even inspired you to try some of these products?

Let me know what your favourite summer lip products are or what your thoughts are on any of my picks.

Hope you're all well!

Paige.

My MAC Lipstick Collection.

Hello Readers!

Today's post will be my MAC lipstick collection. Now, before I start this please take note that I do not have many at all. I have 4 lipsticks, and would like to add more to my collection in the future however as for now I am happy with the amount I have. I really don't have the money to be spending £14 on a single lipstick, especially when you can get something equally as good on the high street. But that being said, I do like the occasional high end splurge!

Now my first ever MAC lipstick was Please Me. I purchased this whilst I was on holiday in America. It was my first time inside a MAC store, and I was rather overwhelmed at the whole experience, so when the lady who served me asked me what I wanted I blurted out "a nice pink lipstick". I have no idea why I asked for a pink lipstick, as I really don't like the colour pink on me very much. I feel like as a brunette I can't really pull it off.

Please Me is a matte pink shade. I'd say it's a very mid toned pink which has a lovely vanilla scent to it. It's a bold colour without being too vibrant at the same time, if that makes any sense. As this is a matte lipstick I tend to find it quite drying sometimes, and it can also stick to any dry bits of skin on my lips which isn't a good look. Despite not being a massive fan of pink on myself, I do wear it every now and again as it is a nice colour.

I've had this lipstick since 2011 and it really hasn't had much use at all, so despite being a nice colour, I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one again.
If any of you like this colour but don't want to spend the money, I recommend Revlon's Pink Pout lipstick, which I also own! It's pretty much the exact dupe of this product for about £10 less!

My second MAC lipstick was Myth. Myth is a satin finish, which means it has a really creamy texture with minimal shine to it. Myth is flesh toned, pale nude colour which definitely is not for everyone as it can have the tendency to look a little bit concealer lips on some skin tones. I personally love Myth and I hail it as being the perfect nude for my skin tone. I occasionally wear it during the day, but I mostly wear it on nights out as it looks great with a smokey eye and some nude gloss on top.

The only downside to this product is that sometimes it can look a little bit cakey on the lips and it has the tendency to occasionally stick to dry patches of skin on my lips. However I love this colour too much so I'm willing to over look that.

As you can see from the image I've included above, Myth has definitely been used multiple times and I hadn't realised the extent of how much it'd been used until I took pictures for my blog today! It looks like I may have to look into buying a back up some time soon. This is definitely a lipstick that I will repurchase time and time again, no matter how much it costs!

Russian Red was my 3rd MAC Lipstick and was kindly bought for me by my boyfriend so thank you very much to him! Russian Red is a matte lipstick, so some of you may find this slightly drying. Russian Red is a really in your face, blue toned red so this is not one for the faint hearted. The blue tones in this lipstick help to make it really bright and also help make your teeth look whiter which is always a bonus! As this lipstick is so pigmented, application can be a bit tricky, as you can see from my photo above (oops). Whenever I want a bright red lip, this is the lipstick I go to as it's such a stunning colour and always attracts attention.

I haven't used it a great deal yet as I felt like it didn't suit me when I went through a stage of having blonde hair, however now I am a brunette again it'll be getting plenty of use!

I will be repurchasing this lipstick again in the future.

Now as you would have saw in my last post, Coral Bliss is my newest lipstick. Today was my first day of wearing it, so I haven't fully yet formed an opinion on this product, so please bare that in mind! Coral Bliss is my first cremesheen lipstick, and I must admit I'm quite a fan of this formula. Cremesheen lipsticks go on really sheer and glossy, so the colour of the lipstick is never exactly what you get on your lips. I love this colour as it's a nice subtle peachy colour which is really pretty and very fitting for the spring / summer months. I thought this went with my pale complexion rather nicely so for those of you are pale like me and wanting a nice peachy lipstick then I highly recommend this one! It lasted rather well on my lips also and only required 2 touch-ups through out the day which I was quite surprised about!

That's it for my MAC lipstick collection, I hope you enjoyed! Hopefully I'll be adding a few more to my collection in the future.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What MAC lipsticks would you recommend?
Let me know!

Paige.
