The Perfect Lip Combo

Around February time MAC's lipstick in Faux entered my life and since then it has become one of my most reached for lipsticks. Faux is a MAC lipstick that I've never heard anyone say too much about, I just so happened to swatch it in store one day and fell in love with how it looked. It's a lovely pinkish brown shade with a Satin finish meaning it's comfortable to wear and not drying on the lips. As Faux is a Satin finish the colour transfers across very well with a slight shine to it and has that usual vanilla like scent to it that all MAC lipsticks seem to have. Very recently I began pairing it with a lip liner from Barry M in the shade Russet. Like Faux, Russet is also a dark nude shade however this liner is slightly more brown toned whereas the lipstick is a little more pinky.
Russet - although a beautiful colour is quite dry and the application can be quite difficult as it's not creamy or velvety in the slightest. However the liner does cost only £2.99 so some faults are to be expected. Despite this, the colour does go on well and it is an incredibly pigmented lip liner so don't let that factor put you off giving it a go. The pairing of the two together creates the perfect dark nude lip which at best could be described as another answer to the "Kylie Jenner" lip colour phenomenon which swept the blogging community. To achieve the look I tend to line my lips first with the liner, then proceed to lightly fill in the rest of my lips using the liner to create an initial canvas for the lipstick to go on. I then apply the lipstick all over to achieve the more intense colour.
If I'm wearing this combination during the day I like to blot it slightly in order to make it look more matte, however at night I much prefer the glossy finish as it feels that slight bit more glamorous. If you're looking for that perfect 90's lip colour that I'd highly recommend giving this combination a go. It's one that I'd believe would suit a lot of different skintones.

My Rimmel Lipstick Collection.

Hello Readers!

Today I decided to do a beauty post as it's been a little while since my last one. I was just looking at my lipstick collection the other day when I noticed that I have a few Rimmel lipsticks so I thought I'd do a post talking about the ones that I own and what I think about them. I have 5 lipsticks in total which is not much at all considering just how many Rimmel Lipsticks there are. I have one lipstick from the first Kate Moss collection and the other 4 are just from the normal Lasting Finish line.

My very first Rimmel Lipstick was 164, Tantrum. Which is a very bright red with a slight shine to it. I received this as a Christmas Present from my nan in 2010 I think. So I've had it for quite a while now and it was go to red lipstick for a long time until MAC's Russian Red came into my life. At first glance this lipstick looks kind of like a brownish, dark red colour in the packaging, however this is misleading as it definitely has a blue undertone to it and really is a stand out red. This lipstick is quite long lasting, it's super pigmented, it doesn't feel drying on the lips and it's quite comfortable to wear. However, this lipstick does seem to stain everything you come in contact with so be careful of that. This lipstick retails for around £5 which is a bargain and I'd happily repurchase this again!

The next lipstick I have is 250, Birthday Suit. I bought this last year when I went through a phase of trying to find the perfect nude lipstick. This look's like a really beautiful nude pink shade in the tube however it actually comes out like a gold / orange / brown colour with lots of shimmer in it. This colour looks horrendous on me and that's why this has had probably only one use ever. I am really disappointed with the colour of this lipstick and I wouldn't repurchase this again.

The next lipstick I have is my most recent Rimmel one and that is 128, Starry-Eyed. I bought this some time near the beginning of this year and I have used this quite a lot. Especially as of lately as it's beginning to get colder here and Autumn is almost upon us so I've been getting into the habit of wearing really dark vampy A/W make-up. I love this lipstick, again like my Tantrum lipstick this is super pigmented, comfortable to wear and is quite long lasting. The colour of this lipstick is more or less the same as it looks on the label and in the bullet. It's a plum / wine red colour which is very fitting for the colder months. I will definitely repurchase this again as I love it!

The next lipstick I have is from the first Kate Moss lipstick collection. This is shade 03, which at best can be described as a slightly brownish toned nude. Again this is a nude that it too dark for my skin tone and I feel like it doesn't suit me at all. I think this is a nude that'll be suited to those with more of an olive skin tone. I've used this a few times but not enough times to give a decent review of it.

My final Rimmel lipstick is 206, Nude Pink. This lipstick is more of a pinky nude and it has a very pearly, iridescent shine to it. This one isn't very pigmented, it doesn't really give off a lot of colour it more or less just creates a shine to your lips. I also don't think this one seems to last as long so for that reason I probably wouldn't purchase it again.

That's all for this post. Let me know in the comments if there are any Rimmel lipsticks that you think I should try!

I hope you're all well.

Paige.

Makeup Wishlist #1

Hello Everyone!

I'd just like to first of all apologize for my absence, as you may have noticed I haven't posted anything for about 3 days now. My broadband connection went down and has been an absolute nightmare trying to fix. Thankfully, my broadband is now sorted and I can now resume with my daily blog posts. So to start back off with my regular posts, I thought I'd create a make-up wishlist, showing you make-up pieces that I am currently wanting to try. Most of these items are drugstore and are therefore extremely affordable. I personally love drugstore products as they can be just as good, if not better than high end products and I love the fact that because they're cheaper you can get more for your money.

1. theBalm FratBoy Blush - £16
I first saw this blush on EssieButtons June Beauty favourites video and I have fallen in love with it. It's a beautiful pinky, peach colour which is normally the type of colour blush I go for. I love the Benefit-esque packaging and would love to add this to my make-up collection!

2.Rimmel London Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch - £4.99
I love Rimmel London. Their products rarely ever disappoint me and this is just something that really intrigues me. I'm quite into a glowy, dewey make-up look right now so this could be something that I would quite like!

This is a new product from Rimmel so there's not a lot I can say about it for now. This is basically a soft creamy eyeshadow pencil, which should be really easy to blend and hopefully will be super pigmented which it does look from the images. This comes in 5 different shades and there's a few that I'd like to try but I feel like a nude, beige colour would be the best colour to start off with first.

4. theBalm Nude' Tude Eyeshadow Palette - £26
Again this was also featured in EssieButtons June Beauty Favourites and since then I have been lusting after this product. The packaging is beautiful, I love the pin-up girl theme. The eyeshadow names themselves are really amusing and the colours just look fabulous. There's a great range of matt shades and really shimmery ones so you can create a variety of looks with this palette. I personally love the shade "Sexy", it's a beautiful reddish brown shade which I think would compliment hazel eyes wonderfully!

5. Bourjois Lipstick Colour Boost Crayon in Orange Punch - Price Unknown
This is a new product by Bourjois and this is their take on the recent chubby stick craze. I've heard good things about this Lip Crayon, in particular their Peach on the Beach shade. I however, really want to try the Orange Punch colour as I'm really into glossy peachy lip colours right now.

6. Sleek Pout Paint in Lava - £4.99

The Sleek Pout Paints have been out for a little while now and despite really wanting one, I still haven't picked one up yet. I'm desperate to try one of these out, especially the shade Lava as this is a stunning orangey, red colour. These pout paints are extremely pigmented and are definitely good value for money.

7. Bourjois Bronzing Primer - Price Unknown
This is another new product from Bourjois which has been very well hyped! I've heard loads of people say good things about this product so I'm desperate to get my hands on it and see if they hype is true!

8. MUA Sheer Lipgloss in Happy Days - £1
I'm not usually a lipgloss type of person but the colour of this is so lovely that I can't resist it. The lip-glosses I have are all very nude shades so it'd be nice to add this peachy pink shade to my collection and have something a bit different!

That's all for my make-up wishlist. I hope you enjoyed!
If you've tried any of these products out let me know your opinions, I'd love to hear.

Hope you're all well.

Paige.
